Newcomers’ Raceday

Newcomers’ Raceday

First Race Time: 2:20pm

New for 2013. Don’t know a monkey from a ton? We’ll chat to you about how to place a bet, show you where to watch the racing from, explain all the jargon and tell you everything a newbie needs to know about Beverley Racecourse. There’ll be plenty of entertainment for the kids, and you can even meet a real life racehorse. We have a huge variety of things to enjoy for the new racegoer, including:

  • Trips to the start, leaving from the Course Enclosure top gate 20 minutes before the start of each race
  • Behind-the-scenes tours of the racecourse at 1pm & 1.30pm. Meet by the disabled viewing ramp 5 minutes before the tour is due to start
  • The Great British Racing Interactive Kids Zone in the Hurn Bar
  • Fairground rides, face painting and ferret racing, in the Course Enclosure
  • Race riding instruction on The Northern Racing College's mechanical horse, in the Course Enclosure
  • Meet an ex-racehorse with New Beginnings, by the Parade Ring
  • Try your hand at racing commentary in the Go Racing in Yorkshire Unit, by the Parade Ring
  • Paddock commentaries between every race
  • Live betting advice from our tic-tac man and betting guru

Last race 5.45pm.
