Elnadim out to star in Beverley Bullet

Elnadim Star is likely to attempt to put the seal on a fine season when she lines up in the £60,000 William Hill Beverley Bullet on Saturday.

Trained in Hambleton by Kevin Ryan, the consistent three-year-old filly has worn the Jaber Abdullah silks with distinction in her short career to date. The daughter of Elnadim has won four races from just six starts, including two victories as a juvenile over the Beverley Bullet course and distance.

Elnadim Star was last in action at Ayr in June, when she recorded a comprehensive victory in the Listed Land O'Burns Fillies' Stakes over five furlongs. Connections of the flashy chestnut are now keen to see how she will get on against hardened sprinters in the keynote race of the Beverley campaign.

Abdullah's racing manager Bruce Raymond said: "She will have one more breeze before the weekend, but Elnadim Star is likely to run in the Beverley Bullet. Kevin is very happy with her and you'd think the Beverley race is an ideal opportunity for her to show what she can do. She picks up very well in her races.

"That's always a good thing as those horses that stay well and quicken are the ones that win races. It's obviously going to be a tough race as there are a lot of older, smart horses in there, but she has won twice already at Beverley. We know she likes the course, and the ground is also going to be fine for her. Jaber likes to take things step by step with his horses and not to aim too high, too soon, but it will be interesting to see how she gets on."

Elnadim Star is a 10-1 shot with sponsors William Hill about winning the Beverley Bullet, with last year's hero Take Cover the 7-2 ante-post favourite with the Leeds-based firm.
