Not just a pretty place (see what we did there), Beverley also boasts some rather fine wedding cake makers, ideal when you’re getting married close to this pretty market town. Let’s take a look at some of our local favourites.
1. Julie’s Cake in a Box
Julie Rogerson at Cake in a Box’s range of occasion cakes really caught our eye. She specialises in creating illusion style cakes, which look like everyday objects, animals, vehicles and other food items (this beer barrel cake that pours real beer has to be seen to be believed). She works with brides to create the perfect wedding cake for their special day, reflecting their style, colour schemes, personalities and special places. The possibilities are endless….Her wedding cakes are objects of absolute beauty, our favourite being this woodland themed cake. All cakes are individually baked, then decorated to your requirements, using the finest quality ingredients (including locally sourced fresh farm eggs).

2. Westwood Cakes
Owner Samantha describes her journey at Westwood Cakes having begun in September 1978 when she enrolled at the prestigious catering college in Scarborough. Some years later married and with 3 children, birthdays came often, each occasion calling for a cake to celebrate, much to the delight of the children and the “oohhs & aahhs” of family and friends. In 2012 Samantha had a fantastic opportunity to be part of a talented team, working & learning about all things cake at a leading City bakery & bespoke cake designer. She now offers a bespoke wedding cake service, offering cakes as unique as the bride and groom, and a mouth-watering flavours list including strawberries & champagne, lemon & elderflower and glorious chocolate mud cake. Heaven…

3. Grace Eva Cakes
Grace Eva of Grace Eva Cakes describes her love for cake decorating as having started when she offered to make a cake for a friend’s daughter. Its delighted reception led to Grace realising she had found her calling, and her hobby quickly grew. Grace excels at helping her clients turn their dream cake into a reality, and her wedding cakes are defined by a simple, contemporary approach with elegance and personality – her past cakes wouldn’t look out of place gracing (see what we did again!) the pages off Vogue. We love her delicate handmade sugar flowers that will compliment any theme beautifully.

All these cake makers are based in Beverley. For information on weddings at Beverley Racecourse, contact Jasmine on 01482 867488.
