Owners & Trainers
We are absolutely delighted to be able to welcome owners back to Beverley in 2021 following the relaxation of some rules. The first four meetings of our season will be “behind closed doors” and we will be able to offer 6 owners badges per declared horse.
We acknowledge that it won’t quite be the same experience that you will previously have with us, but it is a start and we hope that you are able to join us and watch your horses run.
If you have a winner, we will have your trophy on hand for you to take with you, but will forward the winning photograph and a recording of the race post event.
In order to come racing, you will have to complete the three-stage health check, and you will need to log in to the Pass System to register your attendance, which will then trigger the despatch of the health questionnaire. Prior to arrival, you will need to complete the compulsory Covid 19 online training course at https://racing2learn.com/. All of these measures are in place for personal and public safety.
On arrival at the course, you will be asked to produce photographic ID and will be subject to a temperature test to gain access to the course. Unfortunately, if you record a high temperature, you will not be admitted and neither will those who have travelled with you.
The owners car-park will be located on the Westwood, directly opposite the Grandstand. Entry will be via the Premier Entrance.
You will have use of the Terrace and 1690 Bar for your visit and the Premier Stand which gives a great view of the track.
A complimentary Stone Baked pizza will be available for owners, served from outside the 1690 Bar. We are delighted to also be able to offer an outdoor full bar facility. Orders for drinks will be taken at your table, and you must remain seated whilst eating and drinking (in line with Government Guidelines). You are permitted to have lunch and soft drinks indoors.
You can view the horses in the paddock from the outside edge which will be marked. A post race debrief area will be available adjacent to the Paddock. There will be a big screen and televisions, and the grandstand will be open for viewing.
The revised Owners and Trainers facilities are on ground level and the reception desk for PASS entry is at ground level with a step free entrance to the course. There is a ramp for those with limited mobility to use to view the racing, located close to the bottom of the Parade Ring adjacent to the track.
Linda, Amanda and Janet will be on hand at all of our racedays to assist owners with runners on the day. Based at the entrance, Linda will happily answer any queries you might have.
Our raceday photographer is Hannah Ali. Photographs will be available for purchase within 12 hours of racing via Hannah’s website www.beverleyracephotos.co.uk.
If you’d like to order a DVD of your horse’s race, please call Racetech on 0208 947 3333.
Please contact Sally Iggulden with any queries on 01482 867 488 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Racing staff play a really important part in putting on racedays at Beverley. If you are visiting us with your horse, here is what you can expect from your visit.
The Horsebox Park is well signed, directly off York Road and offers all weather gridded parking. On racedays, Trevor and Weasel will be on hand to park you and they will even clean out your lorry for you whilst you settle your horses!
John Thirsk is our stable manager and his office is located at the entrance to the Stable Yard. You must sign in at this office on arrival, and John will then allocate your stables. To ensure our high standards of stable hygiene are maintained, each stable will be security tagged by our team when it has been steam cleaned and disinfected, and you will need to remove the security tag and check the stable before putting your horse away. This shows that you are happy with the stable, the bedding required and its cleanliness. If you are not, please report back to John immediately, and he will allocate you another stable. Horse washdown facilities are located in the stable yard, which is a very short walk from the pre-parade ring.
Complimentary Tea and Coffee
When you sign in at the Stables, John will give you your drinks pass which allows you to get free tea and coffee from the canteen during your visit.
The Stable Grooms canteen is conveniently located directly next to the Horsebox Park and the Stables. Mary Sowersby (a brilliant horsewoman in her own right!) looks after our canteen, and serves delicious homemade food throughout racedays. Breakfast is served from 7am, and the canteen remains open an hour after the last race (or when everyone has gone home!). We cater for all diets as best we can, but if there is anything specific that you would like, please mention it to Mary and her team and they will accommodate your requests. If you are in a hurry, let the ladies know and they will prioritise your order.
Washing and Changing Facilities
Located within the Racecourse Lodge, modern washrooms are provided with separate changing rooms. NB Under Covid restrictions, showers and changing rooms will not be available.
Recreation Room – Limited for 2021 due to Covid-19 Restrictions
Available for day visitors and overnight guests, this room is located between the Stableyard and the Lodge and offers a place to relax with sofas, a dartboard and TV.
Overnight stays are currently suspended but if you are staying overnight with us in the future, onsite accommodation is provided in our newly refurbished Lodge, located next to the Stable Yard, currently rated at 4* according to the NARS Racecourse Ratings 2020 which you can read in full here. Wherever possible, we allocate single rooms but very occasionally we offer twin rooms. Each room is well equipped with its own TV, and modern shared washroom facilities are close by. On arrival, John in the Stable Manager’s office will give you your keys and if you have any queries or extra requirements, please tell John who will be happy to help. Tea and coffee making facilities are located in the Recreation Room, as well as sandwiches and snacks for those arriving the day before raceday.
Follow us on Facebook and you can download lead-up images from the Paddock for free! Our racecourse photographer Hannah Ali tries to get a photo of everyone leading up on the day.
If you are a registered member of the press and would like to request a media pass for a raceday, please contact Sally Iggulden, Chief Executive, no less than 24 hours pre-raceday via email or on 01482 867488.
Please note, no commercial photography or filming is permitted to take place without our prior consent in writing.
