Owners & Trainers

Entry

We operate the PASS System and allocate badges as per the Yorkshire Racecourse Policy. Please present your PASS Card at the Owners & Trainers entrance, just off the car park. Each horse declared at the overnight stage is entitled to 6 complimentary Owners’ badges. We are happy to be flexible within reason on badge arrangements that are agreed with the Racecourse Office in advance of the meeting and extra badges can be purchased at a reduced price of £15. Special provisions cannot be made at the gate.

On Flemingate Ladies’ Day, the badge allocation remains as above and you can buy additional badges at £16 each. Due to the capacity limits set on the enclosures, no horse can be issued with more than 10 Owners and Trainers badges on this particular day.

Car Parking

The dedicated Owners’ Car-park is well signed as you approach the racecourse. It is directly next to the Owners’ Entrance. If you or any of your guests have mobility issues, and require preferential parking, please give us a call beforehand, and we will happily organise this for you.

Lunch

We welcome our owners to join us for a complimentary light lunch. On arrival, you will be given 6 vouchers and when you are ready for lunch, please make your way to the reserved seating area in the Owners Lounge, where a waitress will come and take your order.  If you are a group ownership and are arriving separately, the vouchers will be given to the first member of your party to arrive, for them to distribute. We also offer complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits in the Lounge. If any owners wish to purchase extra Lunch vouchers, they can be purchased at the bar for £6.95 each.

The Attraction Restaurant is available for guests wishing a more substantial lunch. If you would like to reserve a table, please call Sara on 01482 867488.

Viewing

To view the racing action, we suggest Owners make use of the Reserved Viewing Pen on the Premier Grandstand, or alternatively watch from the raised Owners Viewing platform at the bottom of the Paddock. Due to the limited size of the viewing platform, we ask that this facility is only used when you have a runner in that race.

Accessibility

The Owners and Trainers Building is on ground level and the reception desk for PASS entry is at ground level with a step free entrance to the course. There is a ramp for those with limited mobility to use to view the racing, located close to the bottom of the Parade Ring adjacent to the track.

Host

The delightful Lorna Harrison will be on hand at all of our racedays to assist owners with runners on the day. Based between the Owners’ Suite and the Winning Owners’ VIP Room, Lorna will happily answer any queries you might have. Lorna is an experienced horsewoman, and is also excellent at booking taxis or pointing you in the right direction if you require some recommendations of places to visit in the local area!

Photography

Our raceday photographer is Hannah Ali. Photographs will be available for purchase within 12 hours of racing via Hannah’s website www.beverleyracephotos.co.uk.

Stable Staff

We recognise stable staff as playing one of the most important parts of racedays at Beverley. If you are visiting us with your horse, here is what you can expect from your visit.

On Arrival

The Horsebox Park is well signed, directly off York Road and offers all weather gridded parking. On racedays, Watto and Weasel will be on hand to park you and they will even clean out your lorry for you whilst you settle your horses!

Stables

John Thirsk is our stable manager and his office is located at the entrance to the Stable Yard. You must sign in at this office on arrival, and John will then allocate your stables. To ensure our high standards of stable hygiene are maintained, each stable will be security tagged by our team when it has been steam cleaned and disinfected, and you will need to remove the security tag and check the stable before putting your horse away. This shows that you are happy with the stable, the bedding required and its cleanliness. If you are not, please report back to John immediately, and he will allocate you another stable. Horse washdown facilities are located in the stable yard, which is a very short walk from the pre-parade ring.

Complimentary Tea and Coffee

When you sign in at the Stables, John will give you your drinks pass which allows you to get free tea and coffee from the canteen during your visit.

Canteen

The Stable Grooms canteen is conveniently located directly next to the Horsebox Park and the Stables. Mary Sowersby (a brilliant horsewoman in her own right!) looks after our canteen, and serves delicious homemade food throughout racedays. Breakfast is served from 7am, and the canteen remains open an hour after the last race (or when everyone has gone home!). We cater for all diets as best we can, but if there is anything specific that you would like, please mention  it to Mary and her team and they will accommodate your requests. If you are in a hurry, let the ladies know and they will prioritise your order.

Washing and Changing Facilities

Located within the Racecourse Lodge, modern washrooms are provided with separate changing rooms. Please check the signs in the entrance to see where the changing rooms are on the day!

Recreation Room – New Location for 2019!

Available for day visitors and overnight guests, this room is located between the Stableyard and the Lodge and offers a place to relax with sofas, a dartboard and TV.

Racecourse Lodge

If you are staying overnight with us, onsite accommodation is provided in our newly refurbished Lodge, located next to the Stable Yard. Wherever possible, we allocate single rooms but very occasionally we offer twin rooms. Each room is well equipped with its own TV, and modern shared washroom facilities are close by. On arrival, John in the Stable Manager’s office will give you your keys and if you have any queries or extra requirements, please tell John who will be happy to help. Tea and coffee making facilities are located in the Recreation Room, as well as sandwiches and snacks for those arriving the day before raceday.

Raceday Photographs

Follow us on Facebook and you can download lead-up images from the Paddock for free! Our racecourse photographer Hannah Ali tries to get a photo of everyone leading up on the day.
