May at Beverley Racecourse: Four Incredible Events You Need to Attend
May is shaping up to be one of the most exciting months in the Beverley Racecourse calendar. With four brilliant racecourse fixtures packed into the space of a single month, there has never been a better reason to get your tickets booked and your plans made.
Here is everything you need to know about what is coming up at Beverley Racecourse in May…
Family Fun Raceday – 4th May
We are kicking May off in style with our first Family Fun Raceday of the year. This is one of the most popular Beverley race fixtures in the entire calendar, and it is easy to see why. Alongside a competitive afternoon of racing, the Picnic Enclosure transforms into a family entertainment zone.
The Purple Pig Company is bringing their farm animals along for the day, including calves, piglets, ducklings, and fluffy rabbits. Gallagher’s Funfair will be on site with rides and stalls, and the Games Zone features everything from mini golf to giant Jenga. Brand new for 2026, we are also introducing Gladiator Jousting and Sub Soccer, a sit-down football game that is going to be seriously popular.
Face painting, free rides, and live racing, all in one place. Under 18s go free with a paying adult, so this one is a no-brainer for families.
Afternoon Racing – 12th May
The 12th May is a classic afternoon fixture on the Westwood, with gates opening at 12:30 and the first race at 14:30. Come and enjoy a relaxed afternoon at one of the finest racecourses in Yorkshire.
Hull City Family Fun Raceday – 27th May
This one is very special. Our second Family Fun Raceday of the month is proudly presented by Hull City Tigers Trust. Hull City mascots Roary and Amber will be there to meet the kids, and there are even whispers that Lewie Coyle could be bringing the EFL Championship Playoff Trophy along for the day.
Wear your black and amber because Roary and Amber will be handing out gifts to those dressed in Hull City colours. There is also a raceday raffle with fantastic prizes up for grabs, including hospitality for two at a Hull City home game. All raffle proceeds go directly to the Tigers Trust, so every ticket you buy makes a difference.
Very British Raceday – 30th May
Our first Saturday raceday of 2026 is a big one. The Very British Raceday returns with a seven-race card featuring two prestigious Royal Ascot trials, the Beverley Two-Year-Old Trophy and the Hilary Needler Trophy. First run in 1965, the Hilary Needler is one of the oldest privately sponsored races in UK horse racing, and it has launched the careers of some truly special horses over the decades.
After the last race, Platinum Queen takes to the stage for a live Queen tribute performance covering all the classics. Every admission ticket includes the live music, so you are getting a full day and evening of entertainment for one price. This is a Beverley racecourse event that you do not want to miss.
